Concertmaster

Farhad Billimoria's vast experience as concertmaster began during his studies in the USA, where he was Concertmaster of the Michigan State University Symphony Orchestra. On graduating with distinction, he continued post-graduate studies in Austria, where he was appointed Concertmaster of the J.M. Hauer Konservatorium Orchestra. Since the last seven years he has been 1st Concertmaster of the Mitteldeutsche Kammerphilharmonie, Schönebeck, and has often been invited as guest concertmaster with various orchestras.

Here is what two well-known conductors have written about his abilities:

“…….I recently worked with Mr. Farhad Billimoria as concertmaster on a demanding programme of baroque and classical music………Mr Billimoria is a violinist with a very well versed technique and a beautiful tone who, through his musical qualities, has an extremely positive aura on the orchestra……even more so as he takes his responsibilities as concertmaster very seriously and practices the job with modesty and authority……also (has) an extraordinarily communicative style of playing………in Mr. Billimoria I had an ideal partner……….I would be very happy to work with him again.”

Professor Peter Gülke

Former Principal Conductor of the Staatskapelle Weimar

“………..it is a great joy for me to certify that Mr. Billimoria did a spotless artistic job  with a high standard of playing – he led the sections unobtrusively but explicitly and sensitively. His tone is smooth and clear – his technique is flawless…..Due to his fine character qualities working together with him was unspoilt and always concentrated on the music......."

Professor Olaf Koch

Former Principal Conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Halle
